Our fly-fishing guide Ivar Øyan also grew up on the farm and has been an avid fly-fishing enthusiast since his teenage years.
He lives nearby on Tolga, and is currently establishing a small company providing guiding services to fishing tourists. Guiding for both beginners and advanced fly-fishers is his main focus. Although his activities are based on the farm he will be able to guide fishermen around the several interesting fishing destinations in the area.
Read this interview with Ivar and other fishermen on the new "Kvennan Flyfishing" pages.
Photograhpy
He is also a photographer and has worked especially on creative and artistic nature photography. He intends to combine fly-fishing guiding with quality fly–fishing photos of our guests in “action”.
Check out his "fotomaker" pages for more information about his photo-art.
Services
Ivar offers the fishing enthusiast an introductory guide package. It includes: Information, about the fly-fishing zone and its fishing regulations; a small tour along the river to see the zone borders; a sneak peek at the best fishing spots; as well as some basic information on river current, insect life and type of flies/micro nymphs that is most relevant to use at that specific time.
On request he can offer a more elaborate service on all of the above elements, as well as practical instructions on putting together equipment and casting technique.
He can also organize excursions to other nearby fly-fishing destinations. As a curiosity he can take you to a mountain stream where you can try your luck at fishing the exclusive Norwegian mountain trout - local style with a very long rod. With this comes the opportunity to take a little break from fly-fishing in Glomma and go on a mountain hike.
This is how most kids in this area learn to fish. With a simple long rod and earthworms as bait, in the multitudes of small and big streams that flows through our mountain-landscape

The river-landscape in the flyfishing zone is often quite special, and sometimes almost bewitching.
