The Farm

If the visitor wishes to get the little extra out of his stay then the Lodge offers the possibility of experiencing life on a Norwegian mountain farm, as the Lodge is owned and operated by an organic dairy farmer.  The farm was established around 1770, and has been in the same family throughout it’s turbulent and fascinating history . It is now certified as an organic farm. We have a lot of different animals inhabiting the farm landscape. Milk, meat and potatoes are our main produce — and of course good experiences for visitors...


Variety of farm animals 

The Lodge is a good choice for families.  Children in particular can have a delightful time experiencing the special line up of farm animals.  First comes the two donkeys (Fiona and Hannibal) who are the farm's mascots, with Maggie (the goat) and her Tanties (the sheep) bringing up the rear, while the cat, embarrased by them looks in the opposite direction!  Grazing cows and calves are also to be seen but they prefer a cosy ring to a line up...
